I have based my programming off of a loose interpretation of the conjugate method for a while now. That’s why I switch exercises and rep schemes each week. The main difference for me is that I have no prescribed weights to hit on any lift. So I’m doing more of a conjugate maintenance routine. I feel like, if I accomplish nothing else, at least I’m keeping the muscles guessing and the variety sure is more fun than doing the same exercises over and over again. :joy:

You guys are leaving me in the dust. I include OG and his Vette in that group.

Expecting Dr release today to resume workouts. Dr. had advised if stitches broke I’d bleed a lot. That, and wife getting distressed over changing bandages, kept me out of gym.
Not even pushups.

It wasn’t that long ago I was using this same rack when a young guy pulled up a bench directly behind me and sat on the end of it. I told him that I didn’t want to put my butt in his face. What I wanted to say was “Dude I’m a guy in his 50’s on a high protein diet that has a belt strapped around his his gut and is going to be bending over holding a heavy weight. It’s your call.”

Did the same when I retired. Thought I look like a hair band rocker. Didn’t. Cut the hair but kept the beard.
