Generally, on Monday, I run a picture of a muscular male.

On Wednesday, I run a picture of a female physique athlete.

On Friday, I usually run a pic of a woman who has features that are highly prized by the superficial male.

Once in a while, I’ll throw in a ringer–something to freak people out and elicit dialogue.

Keep in mind, though, that this site is largely about reaching a physical ideal and frankly, few of the women shown in this thread represent physical ideals. By the same token, I don’t generally post pics of powerlifters–most of who don’t give a damn if they’re ripped or not.

Now, if you someone can send me some pics like the Milo cover (which, incidentally, was a Powerful Image a couple of months ago), I’ll gladly post them.

Keep in mind, though, that because of the size constraints of the Powerful Image box, pics should be long and not wide.

Shannon Hartnett. She is an amazing woman.

BTW, I thought the site was about celebrating all things Testosterone…which means more about looking at attractive women.
But also about getting big, strong, or ripped. When I was a kid I had a picture ripped out of M&F on my wall, next to the Heather Thomas poster. It was Doyle Kenady, one big mother of a powerlifter with an amazing deadlift.
Personally, I wouldn’t mind seeing some pictures of powerlifters in action, male or female.

Lol Joe, going at it again, eh? This thread will probably have 12 pages in a couple of days:)

Maryse Turcotte a T-Vixen from Quebec. She finished 4th at the 2000 summer Olympics. She’s a drug free lifter. She can squat 320lbs for reps at a body weight of 125lbs.

I’m hearing what you’re saying…but I just wanted to throw out some thoughts…

  1. I think that you’re looking for a “purity” of athletics that never has, and probably never will be, there. In other words, the “separation” of athletic endeavor and sexuality.

From sweating naked men in the original Greek Olympics…to the scanty outfits of Beach Vollyball, sex always has been,(and probably will be), sort of an “undercurrent” in Sports. Even those powerful shots of Shannon Harnett/MILOS cover are truly inspirational…BUT also carry with them (for many) an underlying sexuality…And let me tell you, that even with a “pure” Sport like Powerlifting… full of chalk, grunts and protruding guts…there are MANY a “groupie” at these meets…and some of these Powerlifters are banging a lot more than weights after these meets, because of the, yes, sexual attraction that many of these powerful men have for some women.

  1. The heading is “powerful” images, NOT just “athletic” images…and sexual drive and attraction is probably THE most powerful of Human drives.

  2. TC has already stated that he post a mix if images…and keep in mind that the MEN (Zane, Draper, etc.) have been more scantilly dressed than any of the females.

  3. As stated earlier (and I’m surprised that TC didn’t bring it up)…the images can be turned on and off at your descretion…(The Mods have brought this up over-and-over because of those who view the site from work…)

I don’t DISAGREE with your feelings…but I don’t totally agree either…athletic beings are ALSO sexual beings…(probably more so than the “average” Joe and Jane)…

And to attempt to separate the two is probably futile…

I have yet to see one of these. Perhaps our opinions of female physique athlete differ. Or perhaps I miss them. Seems like everytime I log on, the women portrayed here are not what I would call “athletic”. They have been chosen for, shall we say, “other attributes”.

You’re kidding me, right? So unless they are ripped fitness models they don’t represent a physical ideal? Just what is your definition of a physical ideal? A woman who can bench two and a half times her bodyweight drug free is not a physical ideal? A woman who is a boxing champion is not a physical ideal? Sir, allow me to take you back to all the articles that you have published on this site regarding the development of strength. Can you say Dave Tate? Is he a physical ideal. How many guys on this site would LOVE to be able to put up the numbers he does.

Who cares if they’re ripped. Why are you limiting it to just the ripped bodybuilders. Why not post photos of powerlifters. Don’t you think a photo of a strength athlete going balls out would make for an inspirational powerful image?

I’ve seen the pattern A-dog and I like it. Nice smutty picture to remind me of what the weekends are for

The Milo cover was great. Today is the first time I saw it.

Guys,

Im sorry. If you find these type of women “attractive” you probably have issues with your mother, or are gay.

Female “athletes” that kinda look like men, but are thicker, are not sexy, in my humble opinion. Females that play sports, workout and look like the girls in the sports ill. swimsuit issue are sexy.

I’ve seen monkey’s better looking than these women.

All of the above women are probably healthier than the one posted as the Powerful Image today. And yet the powerful image girl is the one I respond to. That’s just how a man’s brain is programmed.
Actually, probably a woman’s too. At least one that hasn’t been swayed by social upbrining. When I took a psychology course I remember reading about a study where pictures of women were shown to babies. Sure enough, the ones that were deemed most attractive were also the ones the babies looked at the longest.

Yes, I agree, sex is powerful (as a biologist I have a great appreciation of this fact). You can’t buy anything without a pretty girl on the package or in a commercial selling it. But I would like to see women represented in a more positive light on this site.

News flash…this is a strength sport and bodybuilding site…not a porn site. If they were selling Viagra on this site and pubishing folks erotic fantasies then I might agree with you.

Oh puhleeze…look, if they posted female bodybuilders in their posing suits that would be fine.

Out of sight, out of mind?

But they are not showing athletic women…that is the point. They are catering to the lowest common denominator by using these soft core images to draw young males to the site. And instead of teaching these young males to respect all athletes male and female, they represent women again and again as sexual objects not to be taken seriously. And I think this seriously damages the credibility of this site.

Some people just don’t get that you shouldn’t make a practice of making giant green lizards angry.
