Power of Christ

Christians have tremendous strength in face of adversity and in times of tribulation. Here's a story to illustrate my point.

I was speaking to a client the other day, and I come to find out that her husband just passed away due to cancer. He was in his mid-50's. It was a slow and painful process - very hard on the family emotionally and financially.

As if that isn't enough, the woman tells me she lost her son a few years ago in a car accident. He was in his early twenties.

Yet, through it all, she finds comfort knowing that she will see them again in heaven. You see, she was from a strong Christian family that put God first, family second, and everything else last.

She is a wonderful example of Christian strength!

I don't have any great power stories of my own - none like this anyway. So, I share her's. What I wonder is, does anyone else have similar stories that show the strength and power that comes from Jesus Christ?

I'm feeling the power of Christ right now...

I think I had too much fiber this morning!

the power of christ compels you...

I don't have any stories at this point. I Just popped in to warn you of all the Atheist "hate mail" you're going to get.

He he....

I say this as a person who identifies myself as a Christian...

...not another Christian thread. This has been beaten to death, has nothing to do with politics, and invites some of the very worst debate from the posters here at T-Nation.

Enough, please.

It sounds like God really hates that woman.

A woman's husband had been slipping in and out of a coma for several months, yet she had stayed by his bedside every single day.

One day, he motioned for her to come nearer.

As she sat by him, he whispered, eyes fullof tears, "You know what? You have been with me all through the bad times. When I got fired, you were there to support me. When my business failed, you were there. When I got shot, you were by my side. When we lost the house, you stayed right here. When my health started failing, you were still by my side...You know what?"

"What dear?" she gently asked, smiling as her heart began to fill with warmth.

"I think you're bad luck, get the fuck away from me."

Amazing how much compassion the suffering of others brings out. You should be proud of yourselves.

Same here. Does internet evangelism on a BODYBUILDING website achieve anything?

That reminded me of a (very unrelated) joke that sets up with a real nice, heart warming mood, which I can't remember, but because this thread and topic has gone to hell and back, I'll tell what I can remember about it anyways, and it goes a little something like "One beautiful summer night, I was lying in bed, relaxed, peaceful, gazing at the stars, and I began to wonder, where the fuck is my ceiling?"

Cracks me up every time!

This is ridiculous. Fuck off with your evangelism. Stop starting these threads. If any asshole converts to Christianty because a yapper like you espouses bullshit, then they don't deserve to be here.

Yeah, because people from other faiths and athiest never go through such adversity. Only a christian could have delt with something as rare as cancer or a car crash. Wow, where do I sign up?

It is like she gets beaten up again and again but she tells all her friends that deep down inside he is different...

All it does is allow a few self righteous psuedo-Christians a chance to look down on everyone else.

This reminds of that one fat black lady in a Baptist church who praises the loudest, dances and turns flips on Sunday morning, but that won't stop her from being a prostitute.

Here he is again, like a fly to honey. If you don't like the religious threads, why do you read and respond to same?

Let's add 'hypocrite' to the list I've proven.

They have no pride, just arrogance.

Only if you promise to stop posting socialist crap! Since socialism is dead, give it up and get back to Jesus.

Take a look at where you are.

You are in the politics forum on a bodybuilding site.

Give your fucking head a shake.

They should have put this under the religion forum. Oh, wait - There isn't one.

Think about that for a while...
