Does anyone have any information on whether or not it would be beneficial to do 10 minutes light cycling or walking after a weight training session to increase blood flow and aid the transport of waste from the muscle tissue? I’m not talking about cardio in my target heart range, but just enough exertion to keep the blood circulating to clear out waste and transport post workout nutrients.
Well, unless you’re referring to a lower body workout, cycling or walking is fairly non-specific for the recuperation you’re looking for.
I have found doing 50-100 continuous reps of a VERY light weight of an exercise targeting whatever muscle group(s) I just finished working, to make a HUGE difference in recovery/reduction of DOMS.
