Post work out Drink

According to the precision nutrition 2002 and beyond artical I need to consume 20-40 grams of protein and 40-80 grams of carbs per drink. What effect does using the higher range (40p-80c) have? I am just wondering because I thought that surge was based on this information but surge is more mid range of these numbers. Also would having more protein in the drink that I use during my work out be a problem?
