Post O-Lift Nutrition

I’m on an olympic weightlifting program. For post-workout recovery, is Surge during and post-workout still the best strategy? I ask because I’m not clear if there is a difference in recovery from neural vs. muscular training. There is not nearly as much muscle breakdown in neural/explosive training, so is there anything different required to improve CNS recovery?

I’d LOVE to see something other than rest for helping the CNS, but until then SURGE is still the best option. Energy expenditure is enormous and hormonal changes would still warrant this kind of nutrition.

Would it be better to supplement with complex carbs and protein rather than sugars. I wonder if the insulin spike will be as helpful.
