Animal Pak has flax seed in it so I don’t take anything extra on a regular basis. But when needed the good old stand by for me is Fibercon tablets.
Haven’t tried using any ALA.

I use Costco’s house-brand of fiber – cheap and effective

I use Beyond A Century’s bulk ALA, again, cheap – just tried their new r-ALA and it seems more potent, and still much cheaper than encapsulated brands – nasty burn, though, for both products, if you don’t wash 'em down quick
