I would eat a hell of a lot more before your workout. I don't like simple sugars before a workout, but if you like it, go for it. You want slow released carbs which will get you through an hour or so of weight training. I never understood the concept of having simple sugars before a workout if the rest of your diet is well. If you haven't eaten anything throughout the day and your glycogen stores are really low, then I can see eating sugar, but you seem to be having enough foods throughout the day.

Eat for what you are going to do. How can you train with high intensity if your body has nothing to fuel it? I eat my biggest meal in the morning and before my workout.
