Planning for First Cycle

I’ve been lurking here for quite awhile…originally checked out the site for the darkside information, then spent a lot of time reading training tips, logs, hell even invested some cash in some supplements. Its been well worth my time here. Finally about ready to take the plunge, with a few pieces of the puzzle yet to acquire.

Here goes:

Background:
I’m 26 have been lifting for the last 8 years and have the training and diet in good places, although I continue to learn and develop on both of those fronts. I’ve seen periods of great increases (mostly early on) and periods of slow development. I realize that at 6’0 and 175, I’m not where most are at prior to the recommended first cycle; however, I also know with my build and my current development path it would be a long haul. My goal is to jump start things a bit.

Items I have:
4g of homebrew tren
(2) 60ml bottles of liquid nolva at 20mg/ml
1 bottle of Alpha Male

Items I’m thinking about obtaining:
30 ml bottle of liquid cabergoline at 500mcg/ml
HCG
Test prop (homebrew from chinese powder)

My initial cycle plan was:
0-6 - 50mg tren ED
0-6 - 50mg test prop ED
7 - 40 mg nolva ED
8 - 30 mg nolva ED
9 - 20 mg nolva ED

Thinking I might dose the cabergoline at 0.5 ml once a week just as a precaution against any tren based prolactin/progesterone issues.

Do you think the HCG would be worthwhile at the end even though it is a short cycle?

Also, given that I’ll probably end up with quite a bit of test prop (have been asking for quotes in the 20g range), any thoughts on the benefits of running a prop only cycle for 6 weeks or so and shelving the tren/prop cycle for another 3 or 4 months?

Update: I’m still slowly collecting items. Picked up a bottle of letro and a bottle of cabergoline. Still thinking about getting some HCG and I still have the test prop to pickup.
Also, I’m thinking of running the test prop at 75mg ED instead of 50mg ED.

Any thoughts on the plan?

I wouldnt run it that way, but i only have a couple cycles under my belt so I will let the voices of experience plot this out for you if they chose.

At least extend the prop long enough to let the tren clear your system BEFORE PCT.

No need to get all complicated. If you have been lurking for anytime you would know that straight test (500mg/week) is great for a first cycle.

I probably missed something, but I thought with both having similarly short half-lifes that both would clear at approximately the same time. Still though I can completely see how it would be better to err on the side of caution and run the prop for an extra 3-5 days.

Thanks maxx, I had been kicking around the idea of doing a test only cycle. I originally picked up the tren/prop plan due to the homebrewing options. It would definitely make sense for me to get some experience with just the test first though. I’ll probably hold off on the tren/prop cycle and save it for cycle #2.

My first cycle was 500mg of test enanthate a week and it was great. Only downside was the “standard” PCT of clomid/nolva did little for me and I lost alot of my gains.

Looking into a better method currently.

Youv’e been lifting for 8 years, and your 6"0, 175? How much did you weigh when you started lifting? It’s sounding like you’ve missed something along the way, fill us in.

Aye, I started at a deficit…I started out 8 years or so ago at around 140. Made some quick gains and hit the 160 mark after 3 years of lifting 3-4 times a week on a strictly 3 x 10 training plan.

Took time off from time to time throughout the process. Started hitting it hard again when I started lawschool, at which point I was doing an upper/lower body split and playing with some rep ranges and supersets a little. Managed to hit the 170 mark the summer after lawschool, while I was off from school and work and just focussing on lifting and the bar exam.

Over the past year and a half or so I’ve put on another five. Admittedly, I could completely see where it might be appropriate to wait awhile before transitioning to the darkside. I also know though that I can make some good gains if I do go ahead, and I feel confident that I have the ability to keep most of my gains.

Additionally, I’ve got a decent collection of ancillaries should things go awry.
