PJR Pullover with Two Dumbbells?


Would using two dumbells with a neutral grip instead of one and keeping both arms in line with the shoulder instead of close together hit the long head harder? The technique otherwise would be the same.

I’ve tried it that way before and it did not feel the same.

Anatomically speaking it’d be nice to not be so internally rotated going into the eccentric, so that the long head wasn’t in that position, however what I think makes this movement so productive is that at the bottom of the eccentric the long head is more maximally stretched there than in any other movement you can do, due to that position, and maximally loaded. It’s a combination of the two.
