I was expecting to dismiss this guy’s ideas, but they’re making more and more sense. You can’t sustain a whole economy on financial speculation alone forever – sooner or later we’re going to need growth in the real economy, growth in technology, or we’ll face real problems. I don’t think this is just doom-mongering. With manufacturing gone we have to figure out how to do something besides consume.
