Performance Training for Beginners

My brother has been lifting with me for 2 weeks now, and he wants to get bigger and stronger but with performance type training because he going to wrestle. I believe that beginners should take advantage with putting weight on the bar every week. How to incorperate weekly progression of weights with explosive type training? Is HP Mass suitable for a rank beginner?
