The article does state at the end that they are aware that we are still improving training methodology and broadening the selection of athletes to improve potential fields, thus the estimates could be quite conservative. So it’s not QUITE like they are saying “human evolution ends here.”

Meh. If we started breeding humans the way we do with animals, then that record could be crushed.

.21 is a huge difference for the 100m…Bolton isn’t going to magically beat his PR by .2+

I agree, it’s just a study not to be taken seriously. Why put limits on human performance? It will only hold you back.

I read somewhere that theoretically, a human being cannot surpass 26.73 mph running because at that speed the muscles and what not will essentially tear from the bone.

I’m pretty sure Bolt had a 10m split faster than that in his finals.
