Paris Attacks

France has declared a national state of emergency and has closed its borders after at least 40 people were killed in multiple shootings in Paris. 6 gunmen are purported to have carried out the coordinated attacks, and up to 60 hostages have been taken.

Yeah, following this as it unfolds. Truly horrible.

Climate Change is our biggest threat, our president said so.

Shhh there are people on this very site who agree with that statement.

So are we ever going to just bomb the hell out of these guys or what?

If they attacks are ISIL directed, networked, or inspired, the United States and its coalition partners (including France) have been doing so for well over a year. As of Nov. 12, the U.S. and coalition have conducted a total of 8,125 strikes (5,321 Iraq / 2,804 Syria). Al Qaida . . . it goes without saying.

Workplace violence, but one could question whether the French work or not.

The BBC reports that at least 100 people have died at the Bataclan concert hall in central Paris after the venue was assaulted by French counter-terrorism forces attempting to rescue the many hostages being held there.

It’s 158 now. Unbelievable.

A bloodbath. This is shaping up to be as deadly as the 2008 Mumbai attacks.

Given the national tragedy that France, our oldest ally, has suffered today, political quips are wholly tasteless. As president Obama stated, “This is an attack not just on Paris, it’s an attack not just on the people of France, but this is an attack on all of humanity and the universal values that we share.” Show a modicum of respect for those affected.

Typical PWI responses, just some facts

  • Al qaeda is the obvious first choice for blame on organized attacks outside of the region, not ISIL
  • If you factor this into a yearly death average gun control is still in the liberals favor in respects to Paris
  • Compared to our world population these death tolls are nothing, climate change is still unknown so it can’t be dismissed as a smaller problem.
