I have a pretty weird problem with my right butt. I feel pain there when I’m going into full extension in the squat, deadlift, and cleans when lifting heavy loads. With light loads(I’d say up to 80% of 1RM, possibly more), it doesn’t really hurt. The pain is exacerbated when I perform the terminal hip extension fast, e.g. during triple extension on a heavy clean. Heavy snatches don’t seem to cause that much pain, possibly because the load, even on heavy snatches, don’t approach that of heavy cleans, squats and pulls.
If I slow down the terminal hip extension during the squat, I’m able to reduce the pain, but obviously this isn’t possible during heavy cleans.
Does anyone know why this might be the case?
