Pain In Medial Malleolus After Heavy Calf Raises

Hello guys,
After doing some heavy calf raises (with 150 kg barbell) I started feeling an annoying pain in the medial malleolus of my right foot. I can feel the pain during both flexion and extension, but it is more intense when I use my big to to “push me forward” (walking/running movement, calf raises etc…). Touching the malleolus is painful too. I’ve tried rest, icing, various types of ointments, TENS, but it is passed more than a month and nothing changed. I walk a lot during because I am a nurse. What do you think I should do?

In the long run, be aware that going that heavy on calf work won’t have much benefit versus high reps.

In the short term, there might not be much you can do. Stay off your foot as much as you can, but it sounds like you aren’t able to. Maybe look into a hands-free crutch or knee scooter.

Pain over the purple, green or yellow zone?

Purple and green, purple more intense.

Thats not a musculotendinous injury. Find a physio because there’s almost nothing anyone here will be able to recommend
