I am over 50 been out of powerlifting and strongman contest for about 15 years. I am looking to get back into some strongman contest. Anyone suggest some basic conditioning and strength work to get the ball rolling? I have farmers walk handles, about 1000 pounds of free weight, old sled, slosh pipe.
It sounds like you have the stuff (implements) I'd say get to it, and kick ass!
As far as training, I have had great success with a program called 531 for strongman. It's from an article form Chase Karnes who knows his stuff, but this isn't your first rodeo, so you probably have an idea of what to do.
