I've been following him for a long time and don't know what to think. His lack of calf muscles dramatically impairs his ability to accelerate, and probably impair his top speed somewhat, but since the blades are completely passive, they may provide an endurance advantage. Whether his situation gives him a net advantage, I don't know.
What he does is amazing, and I have no doubt that he would be far faster than average if he was able-bodied, but he's definitely on his own playing field, which complicates things. I have nothing against him, but I don't think he should run in the WCs and Olympics.
No. Should not be allowed.
If I were born without feet, I shouldn't get to wear flippers to a swim meet. Sucks, but it is what it is.
of course he should!
it's absurd not allowing him to compete on the normal olympics.
Nope. Should a quadriplegic get to ride a car and compete?
If everybody else wants an unfair advantage, they are free to cut off their legs.
