Origins of GHR

I’m doing a little research into the origins of the GHR bench. I know that the idea originated in the USSR, and that Dr Yessis had something to do with the GHR design we see today.

Anyone on the forum any useful information, or photographs? I’ve heard the story of Pisarenko doing 200lbs, maybe this was the back raise as depicted by Alexeev on the SHW gallery.

Maybe you should try to contact Dr. Yessis and ask him? He calls it “The Yessis Device” in large part because he said people were bastardizing the original version of the bench. As to whether he invented it or not it’s doubtful. Someone probably accidentally discovered them long before they were known as such.
