Olympia 08: Lame or Preview of Future?

Vic should have won last year and Dex will always get the shaft and never win

WHy dont ye just watch it on www.bodybuilding.com
They had a stream of it last year.

Has Wolf gone Weider? just curious as it also dictates if the Olympia title is in his future, IMO dont flame me.

nah I think wolf is still with Muscular Development…and Nutrex.

I don’t think he went weider.

It’s sad that you have to play politics in bodybuilding, but whatever it’d be nice to just get huge and let the chips fall where they may lol

I agree with what x said earlier. Even with some of the “talent” out of the lineup there is plenty of other people and new up and comers that will be interesting to watch. I actually have a lot of new favorite young bodybuilders. Most of which won’t be at the O, but I for one can’t wait. I’m 90% sure that I’ll be there too if work and school permit :S

DG

Yeah, but anything with “judges” politics come into play look at gymnastics.

Overall I think BB as been good about it, except maybe 1980 Olympia, even though I side with Arnold

Ben White missed a qualify spot by losing to Craig Richardson at NY Pro. White was 6th, Craig was 5th.

This is going to be a great Olympia. So far, 3 people are not in it. Branch, Vic and Kai. Two of those individuals may have or may not have made the top 5. One would have, and that one is Vic. Branch has struggled the Olympia level for a while, while Kai is still having the whole grapefruit thing held against him.

You still have…Gustavo, Melvin, Toney, and others who have made the top five, and are pushing the top 6. This is a stacked lineup, and I think that people are mistaking it for a weak show because 3 people are not in it, and that is not right to everyone else who is preparing.

grapefruit thing? i haven’t heard of this…what is it? lol

why isn’t kai competing either, md hasn’t said anything about it and he’s an md contracted athlete.

branch and vics injuries suck. Branch probably had his best package at this years arnold and imo vic won the o last year but they gave him the wrong medal. lol

I’m rooting for wolf!

DG

I’m definitely rooting for Wolf too! I’m really curious to see how James “Flex” Lewis will do… I think he’s going to the O?

EDIT:
James “Flex” Lewis once again lived up to the precontest hype, improving on his performance last week in Tampa to win the 202-Pound Class in Dallas in only his second professional contest.

Lewis came in fuller than a week ago without sacrificing any of his trademark razor-sharp conditioning and announced his legitimacy as a threat to make an impact at the 202 Showdown on Olympia Weekend.
Guess so;)

i like lewis physique but he is to small and young to make an impact in the open class.

now the 202 he is a threat but I don’t think he will be beating a guy like david henry and a few others who pack soo much muscle on their frames and have good muscle maturity.

I like lewis physique tho, definitely a fan and can’t wait to see him go through the pro ranks. I think he is only mid 20’s…and has a hot girlfriend! lol

DG

I remember MD doing a piece on Flex Lewis when he was like 19 or 20, his legs were already completely insane at that point.

Oh, definitely. Lewis can’t even really compare to David Henry right now. I was reading on flexonline how Lewis came in with his ‘trademark razor-sharp conditioning’ for the Europa and I was like… uh… what?

Lewis has a great physique but I think he needs to work on his conditioning IMO. And I dunno, he needs a bigger chest or something. Something just doesn’t look right there. Can’t figure it out.

i disagree on the conditioning. he had striated glutes…what more can you ask? lol

i do agree tho that he needs a larger upper boddy particularly chest and back to catch up to his legs and arms…

dg

Didn’t he come into his last show pretty “off” conditioning wise though ?

I like the guy, and in a sport where a lot of the guys arent even getting their pro card till 30,hell I dont think Ronnie won his first O till he was like 35, he’s definitely got a leg up.

They said on md.com that kai said he wasnt competiting because he wouldnt be ready

Flex Lewis is gonna be big, esp because of the new class. He wont win for another year or two thou

I dunno. Maybe it’s the pictures I was seeing, but yes, his glutes were striated. But he has like no shoulder definition… in some pictures. lol. Must just be the pictures I saw.

http://www.flexonline.com/08contests/08europa/202/james_flex_lewis/pages/_MG_9693.htm

And I think he came ‘off’ as far as conditioning in the Tampa pro? Not sure.

yea he was off at the tampa…

i mean not everybody has crazy striations but that doesn’t mean they aren’t as lean as the next guy. just as some guys may have more veins than the next but it doesn’t make them leaner felx wheeler and jay cutler aren’t very veiny…know what I mean everybody will look a bit different…

here is md’s.

http://www.musculardevelopment.com/browse/index.php?mode=browse&id=15987&eventcode=&page=1

I guess that he might have been able to drop a little more water maybe, but at that lean I wouldn’t say he was off and he was as lean or leaner than the next guy…

It was video of him fucking a grapefruit…no I am not joking.

He is not competing because of a hernia…but that is what I heard.

All I know is that next years Arnold will be stacked…trust on that. The O will tell a lot.

You need to clarify that the guy is an exotic dancer. I haven’t seen that video and I’m not looking for it, but I do know what the man does for “a living”.

Ive read that he did a few gay porns, but of course I read interviews were he denies it

I’m wondering if Gustavo will ever regain his footing. A few years ago he looked amazing, then he just sort of stumbled out of sight.
