What’s so great about olive oil anyway? A little vitamin E, that’s about it. The omega 6/3 ratio is 20:1. Oxidizes easily. It just got a ton of publicity over the years and became this household name health food, because it happened to be low in the ‘evil’ saturated fat. That’s how corn oil got to be in everything too. But it later turned out that saturated fat is just fine, and it’s the polyunsaturated oils that are most horrid.
So, while there’s nothing wrong with a little olive oil, there’s also no going around using your head in eating to be healthy. Not saying I agree with that guy, but he does make a couple of good points there. People don’t want to remove the shit foods from their diet. Instead, they want to sprinkle some health foods on top of the shit and prance away into the sunset. Too bad.
It’s just sad that with so much misinformation out there, the odd folks who are actually willing to put in the effort get sidetracked by stupid hype.
