Just getting caught up in here. They do make beet capsules so you can just swallow the pills instead of drinking the juice if you don’t like the taste.
Good idea CL.
I’d bet beet juice’s taste promotes chest hair growth.
I have been using a beet powder I found and mixing it. It tastes like crap, but I’ve had worse.

While doing sprints I thought about how I am no longer fast. Although I really never was too fast, it’s gone now. I was an offensive lineman all through football, but I could get up there when I needed to. Up until about 10 years ago I coached and would sometimes run with the players. My sprint now is more like a fast jog.
I’ve talked about how we lose our explosiveness several times on here. In throwing, where speed is everything, F=MA, it really shows. Every now and then when running I try to “turn it on” and it’s fustrating as hell. Kind of like one of those dreams when you’re trying to run and can’t. Used to have a great vertical leap, too, but just making lift off from the floor is good now. C’est la vie mon Ami.
Even so, both you guys have great core strength.
Yep, on one of the sprints I decided to really push myself and go as fast as possible. It really didn’t make much of a difference. You always here in football, baseball and boxing how speed is the first thing to go, and power stays longer. I recall George Foreman winning the championship at 45 years old. He had no speed at all, but plenty of power.
An aging advantage.
Old guy strength is a real thing.

Not bad tonight. I got it done in 45 minutes.
Your fixation on this arm workout must mean it’s producing good results.
Anything you can share about your son’s incredible summer job?
He found out that interns in DC are pretty low on the totem pole. He got the chance to meet some very famous people. He’s the president of the Federalist Society at his school, and the national conference was in Virginia. He got to go. It sounds like he had a “very good time.” They had free food and booze.
He and his roommate saw all the sights, and went to New York for a weekend as well.
He loves politics, and is looking at a internship this coming summer at our capital. I told him he needs to find one that pays a little more.

My lower bag is still pretty stiff. I went with stuff that would not put too much pressure on it.
I’ve been reading Matt Furey Combat Conditioning pdf. It’s free online and will download. Only bodyweight exercises. Maybe try some of his Hindu pushups for that back. He’s a fireplug in his 50s who wrestled for Iowa and was coached by Dan Gable.
Thanks. I just downloaded it and watched Hindu pushups on YouTube.
