We had a great day with some friends, who drove over from Seattle yesterday. We hit some wineries in the area. Today, however, the smoke is probably one of the worst days I’ve seen. The fire is over 75,000 acres at this point.
I’ve been reading Bill Seno’s “Pushing for Power” book on internet. A Chicago English teacher, he wrote it when he was doing pre steroid impressive lifting (500+ benching w/o gear) before 1969. Good workouts for training the big 3 lifts. Guy was really strong, a Mr. America most muscular winner in the 60s, still alive.
I decided to train at home, in the garage. I am wishing I had not. I like to train with the door open and it was pretty windy. There is still some smoke in the air today. It is just killing my allergies.
Bill Seno’s book Pushing for Power is readable on Scribd.com . Can join the site free for a month and then cancel if desired. I don’t think one can download from that site.
I was pretty tired this morning at the gym. I was up until 11:45 watching college football. I’m on call at work and got a call at 5:30. I was at the gym at 8:15.
I was in Kuwait during and after DS when all the oil wells were burning. Always worried what it done to my lungs. Had a ct scan done on my lungs several years ago and all clear. Watching our weather here in Alabama today and the weatherman says, “Perfectly clear skies, all the haze your seeing is from the fires out west.” Must be bad.
Thanks. We’re supposed to get a little rain today. Hopefully that helps. I don’t expect it to be out until the first good snow. That’s still at least six weeks out. The smoke sucks.
