I do deadlifts Saturdays and overhead press Sundays with assistance work for each on those days. I take Mondays off and then do Squats on Tuesdays and Bench on Wednesday. I usually don’t have time on squat and bench days to do assistance exercises and just do the main sets. So I started doing some assistance work on Thursdays just to get them in, working out 3 days in a row. I was wondering if doing a 5th day just doing around 30 minutes of assistance work was okay for recovery.
Give it a go! If you struggle with the workouts afterwards or you’re not able to hit PR’s then it’s affecting recovery if not continue.
