Off-Season Size Gains

#1

Hello. As you recognized my main goal for now is to gain size but I'm not interested in Boring But Big template. I just want to be sure if I'm not complicated my plan.

Day 1
Press - 3/5/1
DB Bench Press - 50 reps
Weighted Chins - 50 reps

Day 2
Deadlift - 3/5/1
Good Morning - 50 reps
Leg Raise / Back Raise - 50 reps

Day 3
Bench Press - 3/5/1
Weighted Dips - 50 reps
DB Rows - 100 reps

Day 4
Squat - 3/5/1
Leg Press - 50 reps
Leg Raise / Leg Curls - 50 reps

Not exactly what I recommend - you are missing a lot of components of the training, especially the eating portion.

I have explained many times how we structure the total training. Please check out this out for a complete and total view of the 5/3/1 program.

Thanks for the answer Jim. When it comes to food I get it. Anyway, I’ll stick to template which you explained in your book (powerlifting one). I have one last question - is it ok to do Weighted Dips instead of DB Shoulder Press? Dips are more carryover for my bench than DB Presses.

I think if you’re training purely for size - I wouldn’t worry about what lifts carries over, setting PR’s, and things like that

Amen - Weed 'n Eggs gets it. One goal at a time, focus and get to it.

That’s right. Thank you again!
