Obama Scenario (Hopefully Never an Issue)

First of all, I don’t wish this upon anyone, but if Obama is elected I really think some redneck white racist may target him (NOT ME). Here in Arkansas, I have heard some of the hillbille bumpkins views on Obama and many are less than thrilled, and sadly, many are less than tolerant.

So, just a scenario, if (Heaven Forbid) something happens to Obama, due to a white person, do you see race relations in this country going to complete shit? I know they aren’t anywhere near perfect right now, but you can’t deny that things have gotten a good deal better in the last 50 years. IMO, if this were to happen, blacks and whites might as well move to different sides of the Country, because that would be a bruise that could never heal.

(I know that sounds kinda bad to compare 1 person to years of slavery and injustice, but I really do think it would set us back decades.)

Seeing how we have never had a black president, I am really interested in seeing how he, and his time in office will be treated, assuming he does get elected. This isn’t meant to offend anyone BTW. And I do realize that most normal people (on all sides of the race issue) don’t hate a group of people based on one individuals behavior, but it is an interesting subject.

It sucks that this issue even could come up, considering that I don’t feel this issue relates to McCain at all (Sad for America, even tho there is always a serious risk for this to happen to a president, Obama may be on a whole new level).

…And people claim Obama will WIN because he’s black, that racism doesn’t effect this at ALL.

Ha.

If the unthinkable happens, it will set back race relations decades.

The fact that we have a concept such as “race relations” kind of sucks doesn’t it? It isn’t like the races are unified and are only not attacking each other because of some alliance or something…

If Obama is assassinated it will likely be because he is the most liberal US President in history, not because he is black. Sadly, race will still be blamed.

I find it extremely ironic that the candidate that “transcends” race, is the one that is doing the most to sour racial relations.

I didn’t know that Obama was authentically “black” enough to evoke such feelings from southern good ol’ boys. I thought he was only half black. I’m half Mexican, does that make me a dirty beaner?

And, how do you know that every “shit kickin’, tobacco chawin’, beer drinkin’, sister-fuckin’, redneck piece of white trash” feel this way about Obama? I don’t like people painting every white person with this broad brush.

I’m not comfortable with the condescension, elitism, and intense cynicism of many of Obama’s fanatic supporters. They all believe that:

  1. Obama is jesus and is going to save the universe.
  2. All white people hate black people, and are scared of a half-black man being president.
  3. All people who don’t support Obama are racist, ignorant, stupid, greedy, war-mongering chickenhawks that want to destroy the world, kill babies, rape pregnant mothers, and burn kittens alive.
  4. Obama is GOD, and we all must worship at the altar of the supreme being, the one, the alpha and omega… the OBAMA.

I’m sick of this shit. I don’t go to church, I don’t worship anyone but Roxy Deville, I am not racist, I am not stupid, and I am totally opposed to killing babies, burning kittens, and raping anything.

I’m not voting for Obama.

You have no grasp of history. Obama would be the most liberal President in history?

I’ll stand by my comments.

Obama is being put up by the Illuminati. They will then arrange for his ‘removal’. The ensuing chaos and widespread slaughter will then justify, in most peoples’ minds, a police state.

The track record of this kind of Op is very good — simply see the Reichstag fire.

A totalitarian world is quite logical, given the wild and rampant forces roaming the world today. Only an absolute state can keep a suicidal species like us from blowing ourselves up. (The reptilian space aliens have lots of experience at guiding planets like this, so not to worry.)

FDR would be considered a neocon today.

I read somewhere that when you get sleep paralysis (when you are awake, but your body is still asleep and you can’t move), that it is actually a reptilian space alien observing you from another dimension.

I also read that the Mayans had contact with the space aliens (which is why Mayan gods are depicted as reptilian creatures), and that these aliens taught the Mayans math, and how to track the stars. Oh, and that the Mayan pyramids are actually intergalactic portals from where the aliens are to return in 2012.

Finally, BushCheneyHaliburtonâ¿¢ are actually in contact with these aliens, and are facilitating the move to some sort of world wide martial law, so that the aliens will have a much easier time taking over when they get here.

I read all this on the intertubez, so you know it’s true.

So, as I see it, your logic is that there are people that don’t like Obama, so he’s in danger of being assassinated. The REASON people don’t like him is irrelevant. But, because this group of people don’t like him, he’s in great danger.

Give some thought, if you would to the HATRED that is in some people’s hearts for Bush. In the city I live in, there are pictures painted on the sidewalks and walls of Bush with Hitler’s mustache above the word ‘Dictator’. Is Bush, by your logic, in less danger?

Race relations are already shit. Otherwise the color of Obama’s skin wouldn’t be viewed as an asset.

If someone like Micheal Steele were running, I would vote for him, but I wouldn’t refer to those who didn’t as racists. But then since he’s a Republican, I guess I wouldn’t be allowed to, would I?

No offense, but Bush seems to have little to do with race relations as it seems pretty much everyone hates him. If you don’t think there is a very realistic chance that Obama could be targeted solely because of his color, then I guess we just have to disagree.

Also, I did note that all presidents face the threat of being killed because of their high ranking position.

I view Obama (assuming his election) the same as Jackie Robinson breaking into baseball, and other barrier breaking african amreicans. Most were treated like shit, and put up with numerous threats in either verbal or physical form, mainly because they were the “first” to break the barrier. However, IMO Obama could face the most difficult task of them all when you consider the “barrier” he is breaking.

I never said “every,” but I have noticed quite a few who have that sentiment. I do agree that painting people with a broad brush is a bad thing, and I tried very hard not to do that in my original post (on both sides).

Only on social issues. We’ve moved radically to the right in the last twenty years, not to the left. The right has been running things for the last seven years and they’d been fucking up the ‘left’ for six years before that.

some “noble peace prize” winner(can’t remember which one right now)has already said he expect him to be elected. but will not live to see the end of his term. now here’s some really inteligent person saying this. or does he know something we don’t?

Are you serious? It will be COMPLETELY because he’s black. Racists exist. A LOT of racists exist. I’ve met plenty of them. Plugging your ears and pretending a majority of Americans know anything about politics beyond buzz words is not going to change that.

A guy like Timothy McVeigh will kill Obama, they rebelled under Clinton, what makes you think they’d be more tolerant of Obama.

I think it may be Dustin with a “Paul 4 Ever” bumper sticker on the back of the U-Haul truck. Or Kliplemet. Didn’t he already get arrested for threatening the president?

Slap a republican tag on him and we wouldn’t even be having this conversation right now.
