If he picks new faces, then they lack experience and endanger the country because they learn as they go. “Change” is for the worse…

So really, WHO could Obama pick that would make you guys happy? Who would it need to be for HH to post “Obama pick X: Good choice!”

Better: I want to know who needs to be picked for HH to post with the headline “OMFG: Obama chooses my dream cabinet!”

Priceless! Also very accurate.

No those scumbags sold out and supported him in the primary.

Honestly he said he was going to be bipartisan, he should show that and pick someone who might be referred to as a conservative.

But that would have taken courage and it is Obama.

There were no black faces in the huge group behind him at that press conference. He is a ‘magic negro’, owned by the white man.

In one way, I’m glad, because he’ll be just another politician. In another, I’m sad because there HAS been a LOT of absolute evil done to the black man in this country. I wouldn’t mind paying taxes to help fellow Americans, provided I was asked. Education is absymal, health care, on and on…

Even I had to laugh at that one! Good pic! One of my ancestors was actually at the Stone Mountain, GA rebirth of the Klan and many members of my family were Klan, long ago.

I’d bet a lot of people here have Klan relatives, given how big the damnned thing was.

How about people known for being centrist and going across the aisle?

Guys who are experienced AND known for being, if not bipartisan, than very good at reaching the other side.

So far, he’s picked a bunch of people who have records of specifically pissing off Republicans for shits and giggles. I consider that a bad sign.

No one with a clue thought Obama and congress was going to be centrist, bi-partisan, and would bring a change to washington politics. That became clear when Obama broke his financing promise and opened up his website to take in oodles of those pre-paid cards from who knows where. He’s never been a centrist, and never will be. Election’s over, so can’t we stop the pretending? The next 4 years will be very left. Stop being apologetic about it, and celebrate. You won.

When I said “WHO” I was looking for names. Not descriptions of hypothetical beings who might not even exist.

Who are those smart, experienced, well-rounded, gravitas-filled, chops-possessing, reach-across-the-aisle guys and gals of whom you speak so highly?

The pic was funny though.

As funny as cowardly human scum can be anyway…

Where’s the Reverend Jackson? Hiding in back sharpening his knives, to cut off Obama’s balls, maybe?

For a guy who promised to represent ‘the people’ he’s basically chosen the same old white guys who ran the country into the ground.

Where’s Colin Powell? Out backstabbing another old friend and colleague? Where’s Al Sharpton?

Where are the names of the people who would satisfy you as cabinet pick? There’s a whole bunch of positions to be filled; surely, you can give a few names of what you’d consider “good people.”

And cut the Powell bullshit. If there’s one man who’s reputation has enormously suffered from associating himself with the Bush administration, it’s him. He’ll never live down the little song and dance they had him do at the U.N. with the little cardboard truck pictures. Disgraceful.

Irony: Many consider McCain to be most of those things. Not that I liked him, but the man DID slap his name on quite a few pieces of Democratic opinion.

Remember, “change” is coming to Washington - your change, as it turns out, so start fishing in between the couch cushions.

Ayn Rand Saw This Coming

"Washington, D.C. --?Despite overwhelming evidence that government policies caused the current financial crisis, Congress is blaming businessmen,? said Yaron Brook, executive director of the Ayn Rand Center for Individual Rights. ?

What?s worse, the capitalists who have been shackled with unprecedented regulatory burdens are unable to defend themselves morally. Though the events are different, this pattern of abuse and submission is straight out of Ayn Rand?s Atlas Shrugged."

Well, even if he was all that, I think it’s safe to assume he won’t make Obama’s cabinet.

Do you support completely open immigration? As in, anyone who wants in, is in?

Here’s some more info about the whole Russian situation:

I’ve heard stories from my relatives living in Lithuania in the early 90ies and I must say “Holy shit”. I mean, we are talking about economic turnmoil that undermined the fabric of the whole society, families, communities and not just percentage drops in employment and economic growth. Those people have been scarred and traumarized for life. I am not kidding.

To quote Ephraim Kishon, a late Hungarian-born Israeli satirist: “I lived in communism so I am forever cured of being a socialist”. I agree with that statement - however, from what I’ve heard the advices of Summers had such a devastating effect on the economy that I’m not surprised people started hating capitalism.

The almost identical idiotic application of economic theories with complete disregard for the situation on the ground even contributed to the Iraq mess - “Hey, let’s disband the Iraqi army, and close down all the state-owned inefficient factories employing thousands in a quick dash to a competitive market economy. Sure, we’ll strip thousands upon thousands of men (a lot of them with weapons) of their livelihood but those disgruntled types will understand and accept it, right?”

Are you a wannabe American?

Okay…I know your setting me up for something…but: I would admit only individuals who have attained some level of education, meaning college grads, engineers and the like. I would allow those fleeing from oppression such as Cubans, however. People fleeing from Zimbabwe would be another example.

People fleeing from Quebec, ahhh, that’s another matter.
