I started incorporating two 1-cup servings of oatmeal into my daily diet. Instead of using milk in the oatmeal and then downing my protein shake, I just put the shake into my oatmeal. Is this a bad thing to do? I have heard from some friends that you should split up carbs and a protein shake by 20 minutes or so. I don’t want to be going in the wrong direction with my diet so I figured I’d ask you guys for your opinion.
Many peope do that and the “oatmeal shake” thread has been repeated here several times. You don’t separate protein and carbs, but if following “Massive Eating” guidelines, you separate fat and carbs. Carbs alone isn’t a good idea, GI wise.
