Nutrition of Endurance vs. Strength/Speed Athletes

I have two questions. My first question is why do endurance athletes need to consume more carbs than strength/speed athletes or even more than bodybuilders? I thought that aerobic exercises were supposed to burn alot of fat and very little glucose compared to anaerobic exercises. My second question is, if endurance athletes need to consume more carbs and fats than strength/speed athletes and bodybuilders, then does that mean that endurance need to consume more overall calories than strength/speed athletes and bodybuilders?
