Can anyone recommend a solid nutrition book for athletes that breaks down food in real life portions with their calorie, protein, carbs, and fat contents. Thanks so much.

Be hesitant with your terminology. A good nutrition book’s content is not characterized by comprehensive food listings and corresponding calorie, carbohydrate, protein, and fat content.

Rather, what I believe that you’re looking for is a comprehensive nutrition facts desk reference.

However, instead of looking for a hardcopy of such, I would suggest that you opt for the World Wide Web, where you’ll find many a site with extensive nutrition databases and options, such as changing portion sizes.

I like this website for macro nutrient breakdowns. It is fairly comprehensive and free. However, it does seem to go offline quite a bit.
