Nutrition After Barbell Complexes/Kettlebells

I’m currently doing Kettlebell circuits and barbell complexes 2-3 days per week as cardio/gpp while weight training 3-4 days per week. After a weight training session I have 1 serving of Surge followed by a p+c meal.

My question is, after a energy systems training session that are 30-45 minutes in length should I have a serving of Surge, 2:1 carb-to-protein or the opposite? What do you do after HIIT sytle cardio or complexes for post-workout nutrition? Gaining lean mass is my current goal.

I think all depends on the diet you’re following. If you are allowing yourself to have carbs, then I think having some here (Surge or something similar in composition) would be fine.

How many sets and reps are you doing? This CAN help you decide, however after 30-45 of energy systems work I think you’re in the clear.

I agree with elusive, if you are doing 30mins INTENSE Complexes Surge would be ok.

If it’s less time or less intense I would just do whey-but that’s only my opinion…
