but mothernature.com says not too.
It has worked for me for 15 years.
Medline from the NIH aslo recommends vaseline.

Vaseline when it warms to body temperature vaporizes. When it does it can inhaled into the lungs where it may result in lipoid pneumonia. A saline spray is likely a better solution.
