Gonna be busy tomorrow with in town stuff so kinda went with a mix of things. Started early with about 1.5 hrs at the dojo, mainly Kata and some bag work. Followed that with a lazy 1000m swim and after lunch a lunch of wurst, brat and weiß, and sauerkraut did an easy 2 mile “jog”.

Back from a glorious weekend of gluttony and over indulgence. Did manage a 500m swim yesterday and mowing mine and the neighbors yard. Hope everyone had a great 4th of July (you too Doomyguy and Simo).

leg curl - 40, 50, 60, 70 x 12 (different machine sure make a difference. On one a can do these weights with 1 leg and on the other not so.)

Tried to get under the bar to attempt some squats but just can’t make it with the squat rack. Not even gonna try front squats so said wth and threw in some zerchers. Used to really hit these for throwing the caber. Took the bar from the rack not the floor. Nothing spectacular but a beginning.

Still no throwing?

Grounds been soaked lately from all the rain. Watching the Oly trials sure has put me in the mood to throw something. Another week of rain forecast. Might just have to haul the bucket of water out to wash the implements of mud after every throw.

Random thoughts. 1 - Really don’t know why I’m doing DLs again. Maybe cause I can? 2 -As a competitive athlete of 60 years off and on (football/soccer at 6) I can say it really sucks to compete with absolutely no spectators. If any records come out of the Olympics I’ll be surprised.

The 215 C&J felt fairly easy. For the record my C&J should in no way be confused with the poetry in motion lifts you may see in the Olympics. Been a long time since I could “drop under the bar” on the clean and get that beautiful elbows straight out, bar across the upper chest and just the finger tips under the bar. As the DDF discribed her BP the other day my C&Js are kind of a “ugly grindy thing”.

Started the day with a nice couple of 500m swims and a 1.5 mi run. After lunch managed to get in some Hammer and discus throws to assuage the guilt Simo caused me by mentioning my lack of throwing sessions. :wink:
Hammer - standing overheads - 5
2 spin turns - 10
3 spin turns - 10
Discus - power position - 5
South African’s - 10
full turn - 10
Felt great to throw some. Not too bad on the distance of a couple of the throws. Good thing I got a swim and the throwing in today cause it’s pouring raining right now and rain predicted for the next week.
