No Lifting Due to Injured Back

   Hello everybody. Long time lurker first time poster.

To give you a little background, I am 24, started lifting when i was 17. I believe im decently strong, (not sure what strong means on this forum).

       Just yesterday i did something to my back while doing squats and the doc says its a "lumbar disc prolapse" or a "slipped disc". He has advised 2 weeks of complete bed rest and then physio therapy and no training for at least 3 months after.I think the 3 months is a bit excessive. Anyone else ever have this problem and what did your doc tell you?

I did try searching for these terms and could not find anything hence the post.
