Nike Free Alternative

I’ve been wearing my Free 7.0’s for a few months and I’m pretty happy with them. I’ve been looking around for alternatives to Nike and found these:

Masai Barefoot Technology (MBTs)

Five Fingers

Air Rift

VIVO Barefoot

Opananken Antistress

The MBT’s may be good, but they look a little goofy. I’ll give them a go I think.

The other ones I’d consider would be he VIVO’s.

Anyone seen any others or tried the any of these?

them MBT’s seem like a damn good way to turn an ankle.

and those five fingers… understand the idea but not the most attractive thing are they.

yeah the sole on those mbt’s looks like a rocking chair. i don’t think aesthetics are that important. the ugliest shoes ever made are chuck taylors and look how popular those are.

if you’re looking for a flexible, neutral-heel shoe that’s comfortable and that you can take to the gym or walk around in all day, go for a pair of rubber-soled spikeless track shoes. there’s really nothing better. plus they’re inexpensive and you have a huge variety to choose from. go to any specialty online running store (like dick pond athletics) and you’ll see what i mean (the asics corrido is my personal fave, but they’re a bit hard to come by). you can also try racing flats, though some of those may not be as flat and may have built in stability devices making them less “natural” and flexible.

good luck!

I find that puma speedcats work well

These might be worth considering:
