Night Shift Recovery and Nutrition

A lot of places have night shifts especially manufacturing and cleaning. These are moderately physical jobs and I know from experience an hour after you get home all you want is some sleep. I know protein is great before be bed but what about those doing physical labor would carbs and protein better or just P+F ?

sorry if this is a stupid question. Couldn’t find anything w/ the search engine.

I’m not sure exactly what you’re asking. But, I work 12 hour shifts, and I eat basically the same on night shift as I do on day shift. I eat every 3 hours, and try to balance protein / carbs and fat.

I usually go to the gym after nightshift, so I have a protein and carb shake towards the end of the shift, and another one after my workout. If I don’t workout after work, I don’t eat. But if you’re just going to bed, and you want a pre-bed snack, I’d just use low-carb protein powder.

Hope that helps.
