can’t wait! Hope the wings can pull it out but chicago has all the momentum at this point. Jimmy has to play his best game tonight.

I don’t watch every game anymore when all Canadian teams are out but I will catch the last few up to the Cup.

That’s how I choose who to root for when I watch a game:

  1. Is it the Jets?
  2. If no then is it a Canadian team?
  3. If no then does the team come from a place that gets snow in the winter?

I have a friend who moved here from Winnipeg. He was the token Canadian on last summers hockey team.

I was looking at driving to Winnipeg to see a Jets/Devils game. Closest the Devils got to me this year[/quote]

That would have been a life changing experience for you! Winnipeg is number one in my heart and I miss her so.

Woooo… ok good. No Chicago riot, and no police escort needed for referee Walkom.

I will look at doing it this next year. It’s just straight north of me. Maybe 10 hours of driving.

You can try the Montreal Smoked Meat deli challenge at Myer’s Deli if you like…me and another member here, PimpBott5000 (hey…where IS he???) have fought each other over who can eat the bigger sandwich. I’m losing count but I think I’m on top with 777g of meat.

Congrats Chicago, great game.

I didn’t get to see OT but that was a fun series to watch! I’m predicting a Blackhawks-Penguins final. Although I do think both conference finals will go to 6-7 games. Hawks are usually who I cheer for when the Stars arent around, but I think I’ll go for the Pens since I’d like to see Morrow win another cup.

If the highly depleted wings gave the hawks such a fight I don’t see them standing much of a chance against pittsburgh barring injuries.

Was really pumped to see Hawks pull through the 3-1 deficit, really like the way their team is built and have enjoyed watching their recent playoff runs very much. Would like to see them go all the way but kinda smells like golden boy Crosby hoisting the cup again. Not really a big fan of the Pens but seriously, that team is like the kind of a fantasy roster one would build in a videogame, too much young talent and experienced vets with enough width that I’m having really hard time seeing how anyone could spoil this for them.

No one is even giving my Bruins a chance!

I think the Bruins/Pens series is going to be amazing. So much size and skill on both of those teams. I hope Krug is for real and I think Jagr finally gets a few goals against his old team. Vokoun won’t be finishing the series.

Eh, I keep hearing this but I don’t really agree with it. First off, Howard played some of the best games of his life and may have just earned a spot on the U.S. Olympic team, along with Quick. Second, and more importantly, the Hawks kind of cruised past Wild without a fight, and to be honest they didn’t have much of a playoff mentality. Contrast that with the Wings who had just a brutal series against the physical Ducks that went to 7 games…

I know about the Stars… I would have liked to catch a game next week when I’m in Dallas for a class.

Yes Howard was spectacular, however our defense was severely lacking. Yes our young guys stepped up but when you lose Lidstrom, Rafalski etc… you can’t say they are not depleted.

I think what you saw was what has happened to the wings so many times. A last place team is fighting for their seasons survival and comes in hot, playing above their perceived ability.

Of course we have some seasoned veterans that are among the top in the league which helps. Not trying to take anything away from Chicago they have a great team, but at least on paper I think Pittsburgh are the ones to beat, especially with the signing of Iginla.

I didn’t get to watch the Bruins-Pens game last night, but I did see the highlights. Bruins are certainly capable of beating them but I thought they got a couple of lucky goals thanks to the Pens D. Either way good job by the Bruins to take game 1 on the road.

Hawks-Kings game went about how I expected. Wasn’t the most exciting game though. Duncan Keith is a boss.

Bruins have the best defensive strategy in the NHL. Their system when played properly is hard to beat. I loved the irritation shown in Crosby’s face with Chara. Ottawa trades all of our talented players away, there’s three former ottawa players that now play for the Bruins.
With that being said, keeping Pits off the score sheet next game is highly unlikely. Hoping for each series to go to game 7 for entertainment reasons, it’s not like were raised to be hockey addicts in this country anyways!!

Kings are ripe for the picking.

As a Homer, B’s in 6

You heard it here first

Nah, they definitely have a chance. Even before they took game one.

And Krug is fun to watch. Lots of impressive in that small frame.

If Boston wins game two, welcome back Fleury.

Yeah, even if Vokoun gets hung out to dry and has no offensive support (like game 1) I think you’re right.

He didn’t even try to do anything with the rebound on that last goal just now.
