As a Packer fan, I’m still trying to understand things. After the Monday nighter against Minnesota Rodgers was ridiculously praised for being all of Favre’s good things and none of his bad. Then he led the team to victory and it was official – Rodgers was the right move.
Well, after 4 weeks it’s obvious Minnesota’s just not that good and Detroit always sucks. Now add that to losses against the overrated Cowboys and very average Bucs.
Next thing is health. Before he was even a starter, Rodgers missed significant time to injury. Now that he is a starter he lasted 4 fucking games? He ran to the sideline grimacing after a play where HE WASN’T EVEN TOUCHED!?
At the same time, the man he replaced is leading the league in TD’s while learning an entirely new offense under new coaches with new teammates. He also just started his 280th straight game playing on a rolled ankle.
I’m really trying to be fair to Rodgers. The two losses were not entirely his fault and he’s still very early in his career to make any real judgments. But it’s still hard for me to see how this team – one that was an overtime away from the Superbowl last year – is better with Rodgers as the starter.[/quote]
They aren’t better off. That was an overreaction to the early good fortune of Aaron Rodgers. Now Favre plays one good game and the talk all week will be about the horrible mistake the Packers made. That’s the media for you.
Aaron Rodgers didn’t lose that game all by himself.
The Bucs are much better than average. Their D is very good and their running game is also good. The only question marks are WR and QB. With Galloway out they don’t have a downfield threat, and I think Griese is a step down from Garcia. But Gruden is an ego maniac and he hates Garcia.

Suck it Packers. Suck it.
The Packers tackling this year has been horrible. I don’t know how many times they had Dunn or Graham stopped in the backfield but let them go and get positive yardage. Horrible.

I don’t think it was ever a question of whether the Packers were better with Rodgers as the starter over Favre. Any football fan knows that Favre is still a better QB than Rodgers. I think it just came down to the Packers getting sick of Favre’s drama and they needed to just move on already. That’s how I look at the situation. And I think they made the right move.
As far as his injury, he injured his shoulder the previous play. When he was scrambling for the first down and reached his right arm out as he was going down. Sucks that he hurt his shoulder but it could happen to anyone. I do agree with you though that he does have some injury concerns. Which sucks. But oh well.
I think Rodgers will be a fine QB, he just needs time. It’s only been 4 games.
This season sure is an interesting one so far. Of course we have our obligatory 3-4 shitty beyond belief teams (rams, cheifs, begals etc.), but right now the best team in the nfl is very much up in the air.
