NFL Network - GB @ DAL

Anyone else a little pissed about this? The biggest game in the NFC and its on NFL network. I’m going to see it but I’m going to have to go to a bar, which I dont mind except I have shit to do on Friday and now I’m going to be hung over.

Anyway, any thoughts on the game? Picks?

The NFL sucks for doing this. They are trying to ram the NFL Network down our throats by forcing cable companies to include it in their basic package (and raise eveyones rates accordingly) for 8 lousy games a year. It is my understanding they are demanding a high price too compared to other networks.

Their NFL Ticket sucks too for those of us that don’t want a satellite dish.

I am not pissed. Then again, I have NFL Networks as part of Verizon Fios. It’s actually a pretty good channel. I particularly like the condensed replays of the games during the early part of each week. I was pissed last year before I got it. What pisses me off more is the fact that only DirecTV offers the Sunday Ticket. The topography of my neighborhood (uphill to the SW and too many trees)does not allow me to get DirecTV. As an out-of-market fan, I only get to see one or two Browns games a year because the Giants and Jets games are shown without competing games on the other network.

DB

No, I’m not pissed. I have Direct TV.

Game should be a good one. Both teams have some real flaws they need to work out so I have a hard time choosing a winner.

I might be totally wrong and if I am then I’ll change my opinion, but isn’t this sort of thing decided before the season? I don’t think many people would have predicted a Thursday Packers v Cowboys game to be the biggest NFC game this year. Yeah it sucks it worked out this way, but it’s just unlucky it seems.

If you ain’t got sattelite…you ain’t got S#!T!!!

I love the reruns too.

Yeah, it is worked out before the season, but it’s just what the NFL hoped for. A huge, in-demand game shown on their network, They hope this will raise the demand for the Network.

Also, imagine this scenario: New England is 15-0 going into the final game of the season. They face a hungry Giants team fighting for their wild card lives. Exciting game, right? Too bad that’s also on the NFL Network.

To be honest, I don’t know who I dislike more in this – the NFL or the cable companies. Yeah, the NFL is trying to force it into a basic tier as one of the most expensive channels, but are they wrong for it? Can’t a company decide the price of its product? If I had to choose, I guess I’d side with the cable companies in this one. The NFL needs to be told “No” once in a while. But, really, it’s tough to root for either side to win. Then again, I pray the government doesn’t get involved in this.

I save on avg $50.0 a month not having a dish or cable.

I refuse to pay for TV

I’m torn. The only chance I have to get NFL games in HD is when they are on ESPN, or on NFL Network.

Sucks for those of you not getting NFL, and I think that a game of this magnitude should be shown on free TV. But - my local network TV doesn’t come through in HD. I love HD.

What gets me is that local rights crap. I live in Nor Cal, and the FKG crap Raiders or 49ers are shown before the good games…the 2-8 radires vs the 0-10 Rams…yeah I wanna see that instead of the pACKERS OR cOWBOYS OR Pats etc.

BURNS ME!!! Especially when they cut the first game off at a close finish I’ve been watching all morning to show the damn kickoff for the raiders!!!

I do get the Cowboys, but I also get the Texans… so I can feel half your pain.

try satellite radio guys, for sure will be up to dated then

Anyway, maybe this one will help you. Who’s familiar about stiletto2? it’s a new thing on satellite radio and it tracts live broadcast about latest game and buzz of NFL. In my case even if I hit on the road I still able to up to date NFL games and it’s live broadcast though. Try to check different satellite radio in sirius.com/promo. Hope it solve your prob.

Clicking on the “gamecenter” will show what station it is listed on.

Besides colts/pats this is one of the biggest games of the season. Both teams are 10-1, both fighting for NFC supremacy.

Call me crazy but I’m calling Packers by 3. I don’t think the Cowboys can stop Favre from shredding their defense.

How will Favre shred the Cowboy Offense??? LOL

Favre will be on the ground a lot Thursday.

Cowboys by 10

Typo

Go Green Bay!

As a Giants fan, I’m very interested in the outcome of this.

Not because I think the G-men can knock off the Cowboys in the division, but because I think the Cowboys are an over rated team who get a bunch of breaks.

I don’t think Romo can survive a shootout against Favre. And I’ll be smiling when Romo gets spanked.

I’m saying Packers by 7, but because I have cablevision I’ll just torrent the highlights after each half.
