Newbie

Just found this site and how great a resource it is but I have don’t now wheree to start. I’m a football player and I want to change my training habits and eating. So anyone help me on where to start looking and going to kick my training up a notch

Welcome!

There is SO much here that “where to begin” depends on your goals. Want to gain strength? Put on LBM (Lean body mass)? Lose BF (bodyfat)? Get faster? Improve endurance?

I would say that you should start with the Article Library, pick a topic that interests you, click on it and start reading. Read slowly; take notes (I guarantee there is so much knowledge and you’ll be wishing in the future that you can cross-reference what you’re reading then with what you read way back when); make a list of the suggestions–dietary, exercise-related, motivational. etc.–that you want to incorporate.

Don’t be afraid to ask for clarification on an article or topic. But also realize that many of the answers you seek are already there in the Archives, so use the Search button to zero in on something of interest.

I’d also add that you might want to focus your attention on the On-Topic Forums, rather than the Off-Topic Forums. It’s fun to get caught up in the other stuff, but don’t let it draw you away from the path of knowledge you’ve just found.

Hope to see you around,
TShaw

WELCOME!!! and glad to have you.

Along with all the good advice Tshaw passed to you on the archives and simply reading and re reading I figured I would help you with a few links. These are from a nutrition stand point and should give a preety solid base no matter the goal, cutting, bulking, maintaining.

Training on the other. Just start surfing and find something that sparks your interest. All the programs by the various coaches and such all have there place and are effective for what they are aimed to do. If you get your goals up and such like was previously stated we can all chime in a maybe narrow your search but even then their will be numerous choices and varied opinions on routines that are meant to do the same thing.

Any nutrition links (also look up the protein roundtables)=

Read up on these, as well as anything eles by LL (Lonnie Lowery) JB (John Berardi) and all the contributors
