New to TRT, Advice?

Hello, been looking at the threads here. Great info. I am 45 years old, 5’9 245 pounds previously at 280 still a fat body. but working at. I recently had some labs checked. Had the typical symptoms of low T even when tested T was at 229 doctor when I was 280 pounds said it was normal and didn’t care about symptoms. I dropped weight at my levels are TESTOSTERONE, TOTAL 479 ng/dL 240 - 871 ng/dL
TESTOSTERONE, FREE, CALCULATED 9.8 ng/dL 7.0 - 36.7 ng/dL
SEX HORMONE BINDING GLOBULIN 34 nmol/L 11 - 78 nmol/L
LH 3.4 mIU/mL <=12.1 mIU/mL
FSH 5.5 mIU/mL 1.0 - 12.0 mIU/mL
I feel better but still feel like crap. Doctor of coarse states everything is fine. I’m sure the T went up because of weight loss. But I tried test prop 100mg twice a week had terrible pain IM and SQ, I started to feel better but the pain and swelling was too much.
I would like to get back on Test, what should I start with and how much. Love to lose this body fat, I’m on Keto but stalled at the moment. Love to start bulking up and get more strength. Any information would be great. I know this is a long post.

Your liver is cranking out high levels of SHBG, the more SHBG you have the less free T available to you. The only way to combat it is large infrequent doses of testosterone cypionate, weekly injections is best.

Test prop is painful to inject, you should be using test cypionate 120 to 140mg once a week. Most doctors are stupid when it comes to TRT, most tell you you’re fine so they don’t have to mess with it.

I have access to test c 250mg/ml in q s oil. anything else I should take with it.

First off, awesome job losing the weight. The best thing you can do at this point is to keep doing what you’re doing. At 5’9” and 245 I assume you’re still well above 30% body fat. If your weight loss has stalled reassess calories and make sure you’re in a small deficit.

I speak from experience as I dropped 50lb. I shot for an average .5lbs a week. It ain’t easy but from my experience no amount of test or training can overcome a poor diet. Also, the fact that your T double by losing weight alone should give you some hope that you’re on the right path.

I’d keep going and worry recheck T after you drop another 20lbs. You may be pleasantly surprised.

Great job and good luck.

right at 30% with dexascan. was at 40%. Been feeling better with supplements, but still having ED issues, libido, etc. When I took the test p for a month, those issues went away, but I was having some reaction to that medication and had to stop. But I take ZINC, Alpha lopic acid, boron, magnesium chelated , Vit d 3, multi vite, coq10, Ashwagandha 1200mg with BioPerine, PhosphatidylSerine 300mg. Metformin 100mg a day to help with insulin resistance. HGa1c 5.4. Tried Viagra doesn’t seem to help.

You decreased body fat by 10% and it resulted in a 109% increase in T. You are on the right track. Keep going, aim to get to 20% then reassess. You’re doing awesome.
