Good stuff, Lonman! Thanks for putting up those studies. Now Diet Cokeheads can post that “Dude, U shouldn’t believe everything U read! I like my aspartame with NO2!”

Update: We have three more of these on tap and almost ready to go:
I told Tim about the MP3 requests and he seemed up on it. I think having both options would be nice and making these things “portable” would be handy in today’s iPod world.
Thought I’d post this here as it is relevant to artificial sweetners etc.
What do you guys think to lo/no sugar low fat cream? I found some “squirty” cream with only 1.5 grams of carbs and 3 grams of fat per serving. Adding it up I found that if I consumed the whole can I would have about 30 grams of fat and 15 grams of carbs.
I ate it with no sugar jelly (jello I assume). I also added a bit to my protein shakes powder on occasion. In all the can probably lasted me 15 uses.
The carbs and fat are therefore negligible- however I felt a bit reluctant to get “hooked” onto creaming every damn thing I ate.
So to get to the point- what do you guys (esp Lonman) think to this type of cream?
Do you use it/eat it? Should I only be eating it on w/ends or some such limited time?
This may seem a little picky but we all know its easy to lighten up the diet with these “franken-foods” only to find progress stalls.
On the other hand, getting paranoid about eating anything that you’d normally class as “junk” can mean missing out on something that just seems to make dieting that little bit easier…ex. Chris’s drinks on the VD. Various teas etc. I believe they helped him…but he could easily have fooled himself into failure- luckily he is obviously too astute for that…
am i deluding myself or should i squirt away?
Jaime
jaimeo: I haven’t seen the exact product you’re talking about, but some low carb ice creams can still have a lot of calories. And they usually taste good so dense calories plus great taste = fat gain from eating too much.
But if it’s low carb and low fat? I’d have to see the label and ingredient list.
Also, be careful of sugar alcohols. I can’t eat one small serving of low carb ice cream without, er, “stomach problems.”
Are you talking about whipped cream in a can?
Yeah I am talking about whipped cream in a can- sorry g/friend term of “squirty” cream.
I’ll buy some more when I go shopping and I’ll post the macros.
Hopefully I can stuff myself with it. I might post the “sugar-free” jelly macros too.
Here in the UK the low-carb stuff tends to be shit- I cant even find low carb tortillas etc.
The new product at my supermarket- Chicken breasts with cheese and mushrooms- “ITS LOW CARB!” the label trumpets.
Err…right. Thanks for the innovative products.
I’ll get back to you…
Thanks for the responses Chris et al.
