Just wondering if anybody is a fan of the new bodybuilding style pics that are flooded in the articles now? Im not a fan. I know this is a bodybuilings site too but the pics look like they are right out of FLEX magazine. I liked the more realistic looking ones. THoughts?
Certain Photoshop filters are all the rage now because they intensify images by emphasizing contrast and clarity. Every mag is using them.
I do prefer the old school pics, but I'm sure these new filters will become less used as the trend dissipates.
I actually agree completely, I have never liked those super oiled up high contrast photoshoot type of bodybuilding pictures. They just look too staged, too fake, for me. I don't want to see my bodybuilders looking like greasy manikins.
While I don't read the magazine, I used to like the old grainy B&W training shots that used to accompany articles in MD.
More boobs, less dude. You can never have too many boobs.
starts a chant and forms an angry T-Nation mob
"MORE BOOBS, LESS DUDES! MORE BOOBS, LESS DUDES! MORE BOOBS, LESS DUDES! MORE BOOBS, LESS DUDES! MORE BOOBS, LESS DUDES! MORE BOOBS, LESS DUDES! MORE BOOBS, LESS DUDES! MORE BOOBS, LESS DUDES! MORE BOOBS, LESS DUDES! MORE BOOBS, LESS DUDES!"
To me those pics put some distance between the article and myself. It seems like when the pictures arent dressed up so much I can relate and think that is closer to a "regular" guy that I can become or appreciate as a physique. Not like super steroid guy in the magazine that takes on something that I'll never become even though some of those crazy builds are what some people desire.
The article from today had good pictures... didnt you think?
Yeah, the idea that an "MMA body" is difficult, time consuming or takes any effort beyond slightly above pedestrian really is bothering me too...
Just turn images off if you don't like it.
(FTR I don't read the articles, and only skimmed back through the last 8 or so after reading this thread, lol)
It's hard to read the articles at work because if anyone sees my monitor they might mistake it for gay porn. At least I can say "No no... I'm only looking at it for the articles"
Maybe try working at work if it is that much of an issue?
I don't know, shit that is a tough spot...
or make your browser window smaller and scroll to the side so the pictures are not viewable?
I don't know. It's pretty obvious that I lift weights at this point, so no one questions me if they see me looking at pics of them.
Looking pretty sexah these days btw greg
I counted. 50% of the images are of bodybuilders. The rest of the images are of non bodybuilders.
And because I was deciding between 2 posts heres the second thought
What are you 6? T-Nation isnt a picture book. Google pictures of the type of men you like?
I'm so happy you didn't omit this gem...
me too... You should have left out the first part of your post Bonez and just had this part.
Thanks a lot Beans. Decided it was time for an avatar update
Actually I stated BODYBUILDING pics and referenced that type of picture along with FLEX magazine. Again, bodybuilding related. I mentioned nothing about MMA. Obviously those to builds are different with the exceptions of a few so your burn didnt really work if that was your angle. The site has started using a different kind of pictures for articles and thats what I pointed out.
Yea I do the browser thing all the time, but still have to peak to see if there are any hot chicks. I work on a computer all day its kind of implied you browse a few sites daily, I don't waste much time on it really.
I got an idea! Take off your Skelator mask so that you can see better. Then, re-read my first post. I said that the new bodybuilding style pics were different now and looked like they were right out of FLEX magazine. I didnt complain of HOW MANY bodybuilding pictures there were. Good job counting though, maybe you are the one who is 6. My point was that older pics were more desirable because they depicted a build that seemed more attainable as a goal- and that drives a lot of people. Anybody can open a bodybuilding magazine and find an ad for some new crazy supplement that the completely juiced up been traing for years guy is claiming thats what got him so big and lean. Thats what the pics resemble.
