They used to say that the internet never forgets anything. I’ve found that really isn’t true. Even sites like the Wayback Machine don’t scrape deeply enough to preserve a useful archive of many web sites. If the site owner isn’t interested in preserving or archiving content, it will be gone when the site shuts down.

I never dreamed the site would just go away so I never thought to save some things I would have wanted preserved and now when I think back I can’t remember what I’d save if I could have. It was nice when you would keep hearing the same question asked again and again to go to thread X to find that discussion .
