New Hampshire Lifter II

Jog… whoah…

What the hell is this world coming to?

And 100lb presses are awesome. Period.

^I completely agree.

Thanks Paul. Don’t expect to see that three letter word in my thread very often. I’ll pass on your well wishes to Kim and Kainen.

Harry, whatever was chasing me must have been real slow cause I wasn’t moving all that quickly.

CanadaK, hell does freeze over sometimes.

Biker, don’t try this stuff at home. I am a trained professional.

  1. conventional deadlifts with small 45’s, 35’s and 25’s
    135x2 205x2 275x2 345x2 395x2 445x2 495x3
    timed holds with 345 x 2 sets
  2. box squats 135x3 225x3 315x3 405x3 455x3

My back was feeling decent after deadlifts so I thought a few sets of squats were a good idea.

I had a visit yesterday with the orthopedic surgeon. I really liked her. I guess the radiologist over read my x-ray and I don’t have arthritis but a couple bone spurs. She encouraged me to keep working out as heavy as I like but not to do any plyo push-ups or anything jarring like that. I’ll take bone spurs over arthritis all day.

Well that’s gotta make you feel better…

Paul, after talking with the expert I do feel better. I can better accept a bone spur caused by some injury years ago than a disease I shouldn’t have until I’m 70.

Kainen worked out with me tonight and was benching 225x3x3. He’s hoping to hit 300 by the end of the summer but that might be a stretch.

Fired up the grill and cooked some steak, chicken and chinese pork after the workout. Steamed some green beans and broccoli too.

Yay, that’s good news or well relatively so. And no jarring probably means no more jogging either, you have a perfect reason.

Minimal, I like your way of thinking. No jogging. I can accept never doing that again. For my health of course.

Paul, thanks for posting the picture. I had forgotten how good looking your are. I still have that trophy on the mantle in the living room.

prowler pushes
tire flips

I had planned on only pushing the prowler but as I was finishing up Kainen came out and asked if we could flip the tires. So we alternated with each other with sets of 5 flips. We moved both tires from one side of the yard to the other. Move them back next time.

Is that the two of you at the last meet? So fun to put faces to the names here.

I’ll second that; great news for you.

I’m allergic to jogging/running; hereditary condition. You’ll work around it

Great picture, and trophy too.

Steve- I’m deeply hurt, how could possibly forget my movie star or is it 1970’s adult film star looks?

KP- yup, I’ll let you figure out who is who …hahaha… here is a hint …Steve is the strong one

Glad you all like the picture and thanks for posting it Paul. With a nice mustache you may look like a porn star.

I found a strongman/powerlifting gym a couple towns over. It’s a hole in the wall place with all of the toys any strongman would need. So Kainen and I drove over to give it a try.

That looks like 3 solid days of work right here…well done. so I’m guessing there will be a new gym membership shortly.

Thanks Paul. If this place was just a bit closer I’d join but I think it’ll be a once every week or two thing.

That’s all I had in me tonight. Maybe some abs and calves tomorrow night. I’m making tentative plans to train at the powerlifting gym on Saturday. I want to deadlfit, carry the yoke and lift some stones.

These are some pictures of the place. The stone lifting platform has a stone return in the back. You just push the stone off the back and it rolls around to the right…

That place looks really nice! It seems brighter than most garage gyms.
