New Hampshire Lifter II

^2. Strong lifting as ever here.

Oh jeez, a 550 pull that ā€œjust happenedā€. Sounds like fun to me!

Thanks all. Gonna try and keep lifting heavy until my joints tell me to back off for a few workouts.

  1. MP (1st rep cleaned) barx20 95x10 135x10 155x5 175x5 195x5 225x1 135x15
  2. chin-ups BW and +25 for a bunch of sets
  3. 3 board press 225x5 315x5 365x2 405x1 315x5
  4. 1 max rep set of curls with 30 lb dbs

My oldest was using the rack so I had to clean the weight for MP.

box squat 135x5,5 225x5 275x5 315x5 365x5 405x5 455x2 495x1
Anderson squats 1 pin lower then last time 495x3 545x1 495x3

Thatā€™s all I had in me. I use my adjustable bench in the decline position for a ā€˜boxā€™. Works fairly well and I can change my depth by moving the bench back and forth.

225 MP from the floor and a 500 pound squat nice. Very strong work sir.

I use a miniature yellow plastic chair which was my sonā€™s when he was 3 or 4 to box squat to. The adjustable bench seems much more manly!

How low are your Anderson squats? Would you say 1/2 squats to the pins? 545 is getting up there and your presses are always powerful.

Thanks guys.

Dave, a plastic chair or a benchā€¦if it works its works.

GV, Iā€™m at least 1/2 way down now. I have so much more respect for you now full squatting 585-600. I donā€™t remember 500+ feeling this heavy.

Thanks so much. Iā€™m humbled by your bench numbers. Doing those progressively lower Anderson squats will really boost your top end squat.

Thanks GV. Iā€™m hoping having bigger weights on my back for Andersons will make my regular squats feel lighter.

Just came inside from doing prowler pushes in the driveway. It only took 5 trips up and back to fry me.

ā€œYou know, you really are pretty strong for your age.ā€
Anderson squats, as in Paul Anderson. Every time I come back to the over 35 section I see a lift I never heard of.

quite the training week of Big Lifts.

Has training with your sons - lit a bit of a fire under your ass?
solid work

Damn Harry Iā€™m 46 freaking years old. Just getting out of bed makes me pretty strong for my age. I pulled Anderson squats out of my ass to make my son feel like he was squatting heavy weights.

Kevin, this kid is gonna kill me. Heā€™s so into it. Lifting with me and then with his friends. Almost too often. Tonight we benched did rows and he curled. Then he went to the high school with his buds played hoop and squatted while I sat home and drank a bottle of wine and am now working on a couple of beers.

I did some pause benching with the last couple reps of my final 3-4 sets of bench. My oldest son lifted with me then went and played hoop and did squats with his friends.

Ahh youth ! I hope someday to be youngā€¦ Steve looks like your marching onwards and upwards with your training.

Youā€™re kicking it with those benches and heavy semi-sumo deads. Nice work.

Steve- good thing you sent your forms in a few weeks agoā€¦ as of this AM its sold out

Yepā€¦one of the benefits of being an ā€œolderā€ lifter. Post workout nutrition is much better.

Really looking for to the meet. Wish I could be there to watch you three in person.

Paul, its a slow march for sure. Iā€™m a little disappointed things are moving so slowly and the weights are feeling so heavy. I havenā€™t got a confirmation but they cashed my checks so I better be on the list.

GV, thanks brother. I want things to move so much more quickly but Iā€™m not 25 and knee and back pain cut many of my lower body workouts short.

Littlestrick, you seem familiar sir. I think I remember you. MP guy right? But really it would be great if you lived close enough to come to the meet. Iā€™m practicing some post workout nutrition right now.

My youngest had a game tonight so I hit the weights right after work with my son. Going to lift some stones tomorrow (I hope).

That was it. My back and left knee were done.

Solid work. You should have a very good meet as well as a lot of fun.
