Well, here are just a few things off the top of my head:
1 - Put a premium on all types of flexibility and mobility (static, dynamic, PNF, etc.)
2 - Start with bodyweight exercises and progress them naturally to the weightroom. Once you get them in the weightroom, focus on perfect technique with little or no weight.
3 - Try and get them off the court at certain times in the year. Sport specialization at too early of an age can lead to injuries, peaking too soon, and burnout.
Thanks for the great information. So you’re the Hoosier who played ball? What kind of info do you have for strength and conditioning for 12-14 year old basketball players who play at the AAU level(meaning) they play basketball almost exclusively, unfortunately)?
Thanks again for the great D-Tap.[/quote]
