Good call on Shawshank. That one is what good film making is all about.

Who are you named after? A mix of men your mom thought might be your real dad? Or are those family names from you kin who fought in the civil war?

American History X

This brings up a good point regarding Terminator. Why not just remake the crappy sequels and leave the originals untouched. Like back to the future style… Its almost like quantam leap. "He travels through the film archives… righting wrongs.

Remake Terminator 3, Rocky V, Back to the Future 3, Matrix 2 and 3, Superman IV, The Star Wars prequel trilogy, ghostbusters 2, etc.

Apparently the Swedish version was a little too ‘raw’ for the American audience.
What a unbearable irony.[/quote]

American audiences can’t read the subtitles. Too much work.

Over the 50 gallon drum of popcorn and 20 pound bag of candy and 20 gallon cup of coke. I mean come on Yo Momma how and the hell can they read anything.

They should never remake Back to the Future, Jaws or The Goonies. There several others, but those are the first 3 that popped in my head. Also, Calvin & Hobbes should never be touched.

Honestly both.

Toy Story Trilogy.

srsly, nobody could match the heart and sensitivity of Woody, and…well…lets face it. There just will never be another Buzz Lightyear.

Didn’t know Calvin and Hobbes was a movie.

Go back and read my thread starter. I said your list could include books or cartoons you’d think would be bad choices for film.

Oh yeah, Stand By Me. Never ever touch that film.

Good one!

The thing about that film… it felt like old film. Had that warm vintage quality even though it was made in '86. The line-up of actors was perfect. Who the hell could fill those shoes today?

Robocop

American Psycho
Office Space
Any of the Die Hards
Stand by Me

Still can’t get over the fact that they remade Karate Kid. Pat Morita would be spinning in his grave.
