Neutral Spine

I am wondering if any of you out there have some good links about maintaining neutral spine. I have a friend who seems to think that our backs are poorly designed and would be better if it had no curves at all. This of course makes no sense because it is the synergy between the all of the structures that provides the strength.

Anyways, He is one of those people who puts his feet up on the bench and doesn’t like shoulder press because his back feels weak when lifting in neutral alignment.

Your friend is a moron.
Buy him a human anatomy textbook.

I have only met one strong person who benches with his feet on the bench.
His reason for doing this: He has fused vertebrae in his lumbar spine and can not arch properly without aggravating his condition. Interestingly, he told me he has no idea why uninjured people perform the movement this way.
