To the OP, here’s my honest assessment: It seems to me that you and your friends are very young and immature. You exacerbated the situation with the initial “friend” by antagonizing him to hit you and throwing him into the pier. It seems like you and your friends are unable to have a good time without adding any drama to the situation. If you’re looking for a change I would suggest doing just that or accept the fact that you and your friends are douchebags.
Like type2b said, we don’t know the whole of the situation we know the result from your perspective but none of the causes. Who knows, maybe you did deserve it? If these were good friends the situation wouldn’t have escalated to the height it did. Keep that in mind.

well it all started because me and this one kid have some bad blood and he was barking about it. and i was just sick of hearing him. yes we were all wasted but the thing that just really got under my skin was that noone bothered to hold back the other kid as he hit me.
if by throwing the one kid off the pier if i deserved to get hit, thats fine then i deserved it. but that fact that 4 or 5 of them were holding me down and another one continued to hit me, in my eyes thats bullshit. either hold us both back or allow us to duke it out and that would be that.
elano i agree with what you have said. ive been realizing that i hang out with them because well weve known eachother for a while and thats who i always hung out with. i really dont care for them too much so they are dispensable. theres about 3-4 other people that ive been staying in touch with since then and i just feel like a weights been lifted haha.
